Rebecca Âcikahtê

Rebecca Âcikahtê is Anishinaabe, Dakota, and Irish from Cowessess First Nation in Treaty 4 Territory. With more than 11 years in the renewable energy sector, she has led work in membership management, community energy planning, and now serves as the Business Development Manager of Sustainability for Cowessess Ventures Ltd. Rebecca is also a sessional lecturer  for Community Vision & Engagement in the Master of Sustainability program at the University of Saskatchewan.

She brings over 20 years of experience in administration, having worked with organizations including the First Nations Power Authority, Regina Treaty/Status Indian Services, SIIT, Rainbow Youth Centre, the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board, and the City of Regina. She also serves as the Saskatchewan Chapter Lead for Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) and as a Director on the board of For The Love of Matthew.

Rebecca holds a Certificate in Management from Harvard Business School, a Certified Aboriginal Professional Administrator designation through AFOA Canada, and a Master’s in Sustainability and Energy Security from the University of Saskatchewan.

Her passion lies in advancing Indigenous energy sovereignty, fostering energy security and sustainability, protecting the land, and supporting cultural revitalization.
