Albert Derocher

Albert Derocher was born and raised on the Flying Dust First Nation.  Albert has worked for his community for the last 34 years.  His experience entails working with various Business Organizations, Levels of Government, Non Profits and Indigenous Institutions.  For the majority of years he has worked for Indigenous People both provincially, regionally and locally.  He has worked for Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations, Meadow Lake Tribal Council and the Flying Dust First Nation, which is his home community.  He has witnessed the transformation of Indigenous communities as they grow and gain inclusion into mainstream society.

As a graduate of Palliser Campus in Business Administration, Albert has applied his skills and knowledge to help further Flying Dust First Nation (FDFN) Holdings Corp.  He has worked for FDB Holdings (Flying Dust First Nation’s Corporate Arm) as their General Manager for the past six years.  He was the Economic Development Officer previous to that for 8 years and had worked for FDFN for 17 years.  Having worked in various capacities throughout that time Albert has developed an appreciation for the work that the staff at FDFN performs and is proud to be a member of his community.

In 2019 Albert became a partner in Indigenous Networking Consultants and is a partner and Chief Executive Officer of NewNation Developments Ltd. which was formed in 2020.  Albert brings his business development knowledge and insight to Indigenous development and program services.

Albert has applied his expertise to various projects for First Nations and other groups across Canada.  Groups seeking project funding, development, and venture management expertise seek out Albert.  He brings significant site assessment, development, and investment experience.  In 2022, Cando (Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers) recognized Albert as Economic Developer of the Year.
